Bite Size News: This Week’s Previews

Every week, The Sybarite collates its pick of the hottest luxury lifestyle news into bite-size chunks. In this week’s edition, we cover Cowes Week, Tesla announcing the launch of their latest model of electric cars, the opening of No. 29 Power Station West and the launch of the Grey Goose Le Grande Fizz Brunch Club.

Cowes Week 2017

Cowes week is not only one of the oldest and most respected regattas, but also one of the longest running annual sporting events – However it has grown significantly in size over the years, from a fleet of 7 boats to now over 1000 boats and up to 40 races a day.

Shoreside there is entertainment for all, including live music, a gin festival, and a fun fair. As tradition, there is a ladies day, where ladies are encouraged to wear blue and white stripes, with prizes for the most eye-catching outfits, as well as pop-up shops, being open throughout the venues.

No. 29 Power Station West Opens

The latest opening from Mel Marriott, Darwin & Wallace has landed in the redeveloped Battersea Power Station, London’s newest and upcoming district. With over 30 types of wines and 20 types of beers and lagers, No. 29 Power Station West has quickly become the place to be this summer. The Sunday Lunch menu looks amazing with promises of slow cooked short rib of beef and an abundance of cocktails.

Also in the collection of bars are No. 11 Pimlico Road and No. 32 The Old Town.

 

Tesla Unveil New ‘Model 3’

With the first 30 cars being delivered this past week, it has been announced that the Tesla Model 3 will be the companies first mass produced car, with 20,000 being produced in December alone. Founder and CEO Elon Musk has revealed that to gain access into your own electric vehicle you won’t need a key, Just your smartphone. But don’t worry, if your phones should run out of battery or you forget to pick it up, there will also be a key card that is ‘thin enough to fit inside your wallet.’

Grey Goose Le Grand Fizz Brunch Club

Located in Marylebone at Carousel, Grey Goose is launching their Le Grande Fizz Brunch Club which aims to stimulate the five key taste profiles – bitter, salty, sour, sweet, and umami. Created by foodie Anna Barnett, Dan Berger – head of bars at The Ned, & Grey Goose Ambassador Myles Donneky.
