Cowdray house itself has 22 luxuriously British en suite bedrooms perfect for wedding parties. Its grounds are perfect for a spot of golf, clay pigeon shooting, Swimming, bowling, polo, brunch and even wine tasting. 

Cowdray Heritage

The estate has a history dating back to the early 1500’s. Cowdray is also home to Cowdray Heritage – one of England’s most important early Tudor houses – known to be visited by King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I. Devastatingly, in September 1793 a fire took hold of the beautiful house and most of the property was destroyed. Today, the magnificent ruins are set in the landscape of Cowdray Park, making it a truly Instagrammable location.

Cowdray has a menu to tickle all taste buds. Its farm shop café follows the estate’s ethos of wellbeing, so whether you’re a vegan or love a good poached egg and a bit of bacon, the menu is full of healthy options that are fresh and tasty. Next door to the café is the farm shop, providing fresh produce for customers to buy, whether it’s venison sausages, organic eggs or blue cheese, the Farm shop has a range of high-quality choices that foodies will love.

A number of events are held annually on the grounds of the estate; golf, shooting, fly fishing, and wildlife tours, but the estate is also home to British Polo. The public is welcome to watch the Polo at Cowdray throughout the season and tickets are exceptionally reasonable. It is the perfect summer’s day out and an excuse to get glamorous.

Cowdray has a great sense of relaxation and spirituality, you get a real feeling of tranquility when you enter the house, making it the perfect haven for yoga, pilates and meditation. The Therapy Rooms offer a boutique private space for therapists and consultants to immerse their clients into luxurious, peaceful and historic surroundings.
