Having once held a number of famous faces such as Oscar Wilde, John Lennon and Mick Jagger, the hotel is still popular with certain high-profile individuals, often frequented by celebrities. The Courthouse stays true to its history by featuring quirky decor; The Bar (pun intended) serves a range of lethal-themed cocktails, such as the Behind Bars martini, and its private tables are actually inside three original prison cells.
For a breath of fresh air, head to the hotel’s rooftop bar: Sky Terrace. With gorgeous views of Carnaby Street below, it’s the perfect spot to unwind after a long day, or start off your evening, depending on your night’s motives.
Silk, the hotel’s destination restaurant, is the architectural focal point of the hotel. Taking residence in what used to be the old Number One court, guests can enjoy delightful Asian fusion cuisine amidst the Judge’s bench, witness stand and dock. The Sybarite enjoyed a flavourful Tandoori Chicken, cooked by Head Chef Rajesh Parmar. Other main dishes on the menu include Tiger Prawns, Cod Loin and Kali Miri Bade Miya, whilst tasty desserts such as Mango Creme Brulee with Red Fruit Compote and Cardamom Fruit Truffle with Bandied Fruits are on offer.
If you’re not planning on spending a night on the town, you’re more than spoilt for choice with the luxurious amenities available at the hotel.
