Waldhaus Flims Alpine Grand Hotel Re-Opens
Historic Swiss hotel, Waldhaus Flims, has recently opened its doors following a year’s worth of £33 million refurbishments to two of its three hotels, its restaurants and expansive 3,000sqm spa, the latter of which now includes a new private day spa suite, complete with its own sauna and Hamman. From June this year, guests will also be able to stay in the retreat’s newly refurbished hotel, Chalet Belmont, which has also been completely renovated and upgraded.
Rolls Royce Creates One-Off Bespoke ‘Sweptail’ Model
The iconic luxury motor company, Rolls Royce, has created a one-off two-seater coachbuilt car, commissioned in 2013 by a private customer. It was inspired by the client’s love of racing yachts as well as the swept-tail Rolls Royces of the 1920s. The vehicle features a specially requested panoramic glass roof; one the largest and most complex ever seen on a motor car.
Elvis Presley’s Private Jet to be Auctioned
The late American singer’s custom-made jet was sold for $430,000 at a Californian auction on Saturday 27 May. Originally thought to sell for between $2million $3.5million dollars, the 1962 Lockheed Jetstar has sat on a runway in Roswell, New Mexico for 35 years and has no engines and an unrestored cockpit. However, GMS Auctions estimates that once it has been restored, the plane could be worth millions. The jet was custom designed for the King to include gold-tone hardware, red velvet seats, and a red carpet.
BMW Unveils New Series 8 Concept
On sale next year, the beautiful motor will be BMW’s flagship car; its most luxurious, intelligent, and potentially most expensive model yet. Although the car is officially a concept, not much is expected to change before the production version is revealed in September of this year. On the Series 7, BMW’s trademark front kidney grilles are even more prominent than usual, the car features a long bonnet, 21 alloy wheels, ‘laser’ headlights, which allow the driver to see much further than conventional lights, and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
