As you may well have heard, The Sybarite decided to expand their brand to the booming continent of Africa by launching in Ghana on March 5th 2020. Taking The Sybarite to a whole new market is an exciting step which needed to be duly celebrated.
With this in mind, our #TheSybariteAfrica launch event was born. The launch party took place at Kozo in Ghana and was well attended by sybarites of Africa.
The desire and demand for luxury experience continues to blossom in Africa, with a growing population of affluent, high-class individuals searching for their next venture into grandeur. It’s also clear that in Africa, and globally, the demand for experience over objects has flourished, ‘‘59% of those we talked to would rather spend their hard-earned cash on experiences rather than material things.’ (Eventbrite)
Ghana itself is one of the most stable countries across Africa, with a projected GDP increase of 5.5% in 2020, and is the ideal and chosen platform to launch The Sybarite experiences across Africa and globally. As the second-fastest-growing region in the world, there’s plenty of scope for the business of luxury experience in Africa.

Our platform showcases the very best of luxury and indulgence, valuing experience and adventure over the material and the ordinary; naturally, our launch event was primed to boast that same excitement and luxury experience.
The night began with a cocktail and canape welcoming of dapper and glamorous guests, filling the beautifully-lit outdoor space of Kozo. Once everyone had had the chance to introduce themselves, explore the venue, and mingle with fellow Sybarites, host Marie Humbert welcomed guests and introduced The Sybarite Founder, John Cofie for a short round of Q&A’s about The Sybarite brand.
After more cocktails, guests crossed fingers for luck in The Sybarite raffle, where the prizes included a bottle of wine, a bottle of champagne, dinner for two at Kozo and a two-night stay at Zaina Lodge; prizes worthy of any Sybarite! The auction, which followed, showcased the impressive nature of The Sybarite’s offering, allowing guests the chance to out-bid their competitors and bag themselves The Monaco Grand Prix experience!*
The launch event then came to a close with another word from Founder John Cofie, drinks still flowing amid the buzz of an enthusiastic crowd; a successful event and wonderful evening enjoyed by all.
