On Saturday 25th of May, marking the Royal London One-Day Cup final, The Sybarite were able to sample the superb hospitality on offer at Lord’s Cricket Ground’s Tavern Box. From unrivalled views of the action to mouth-watering cuisine, this luxury day out is as special as cricket gets.
Beginning the day with delicious breakfast options, the Tavern Box offers guests excellent views across the whole pitch, as well as a three course lunch, an open bar to enjoy copious amounts of Pimms and champagne, and afternoon tea including scones and cakes. The service offered by Lord’s is excellent and our hosts were attentive throughout the whole day.
As for the day’s match between Somerset and Hampshire, Somerset emerged victorious from the Royal London One-Day Cup, defeating Hampshire by six wickets after a decade as runners up. The match marks the final year of domestic one-day finals held at Lord’s, with the match moving to Trent Bridge next summer following 56 years at the Home of Cricket.
