Every week, The Sybarite collates its pick of the hottest luxury lifestyle news into bite-size chunks. In this week’s edition, we cover the opening of the latest The Ivy City Garden in Bishopsgate Gardens, the Dior pop-up online store in collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman; the opening of the new Ritz-Carlton in Almaty, Kazakhstan; and the opening of Nur – an authentic Israeli restaurant in New York.
The Ivy City Garden opens latest spot at Bishopsgate Gardens

The Ivy Collection has recently opened it’s latest restaurant in London’s iconic Bishopsgate Gardens and as it is a City Garden restaurant, it is all outside, complete with fountains in the summer that magically transform into roaring fire-pits in the colder months as well as three extra fireplaces and bar.

As for the decor, The Ivy are continuing with their long standing partnership with Martin Brudnizki resulting in bar stools in glorious shades of Midnight Blue and onyx bar; burnt-orange leather banquettes and marble floor tiles. The private dining area can take up to 30 guests and overlooks both the garden and Church of St Botolph, making it the perfect location to host any party.

It’s convenient and central location means The Ivy City Garden is perfect for pre-work breakfast dates and post-work cocktails with friends and colleagues.

Ritz-Carlton opens its first venture in Astana, Kazakhstan

As one of Kazakhstan’s ‘most thoughtfully designed 5-star hotels’ guests can truly appreciate the panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains.

Located in downtown Astana, it provides unforgettable panoramic skyline views; luxury suites and three exceptional restaurants.

The unique combination of the famous Ritz-Carlton service legacy and the traditionalism of Kazakhstan’s culture of hospitality allows guests to feel at home in the new and emerging city.

Guests can enjoy the spa with its tradition central-Asian inspired menu of treatments as well as saunas, steam room and experience showers, which is arguably the perfect way to a relax and prepare for a night at the ‘Astana Opera’ or after a day at the Baiterek monument – the most significant symbol of Kazakhstan.

 

Dior teams up with Bergdorf’s for fall 2017 online pop up store

Dior have broken their e-commerce embargo (aside from makeup and skincare) for only the second time, to launch another exclusive pop-up store in conjunction with Bergdorf Goodman.

The campaign has recruited four fashion ‘it-girls’ from across the globe as part of the launch of the popular ‘J’adore slingbacks’ in new colourways for this season.

The collection is only available online between 7th and 28th June and features 14 selection pieces, and features the ‘Dioreve Floral-Embroidered Plumetis boots’ and ‘I-Dior Suede over-the-knee boots’.

New restaurant Nur opens in New York

Israeli restaurant Nur has just opened in the heart of New York’s Flatiron district.Meir Adoni, the Israeli celebrity chef describes Nur as modern middle-eastern, with its name meaning ‘light’ in Hebrew and ‘flame’ in Arabic, serving “Authentic Israeli” cuisine.

The restaurant seats up to 60 and the menu has some dishes exact to his 4 restaurants in Israel, and some new and exclusive ones such as ‘Jordan River’ which is a smoked trout and curry-citrus vinaigrette with a serving of Medjool date doughnuts

The cocktails incorporate Middle Eastern flavours such as Harissa, and the wine list is an impressive array of Israeli and Lebanese classics.
