The East London Police Station Transformed Into A £40M Luxury Hotel

London’s most hotly anticipated hotel is due to open its doors on June 1st, and here at The Sybarite, we’re guilty as charged for wanting to lock ourselves up and throw away the key!

The former Old Street Magistrates’ Court was once home to infamous criminals such as the Kray twins but is now a stylish 5* boutique hotel with spacious rooms and suites. Situated in the trendy East End, and only a short distance from the capital’s central shopping district, the hotel has undergone a £40M renovation. Now boasting a spa, rooftop cocktail bar, bowling alley, and private cinema, with 86 guest rooms and 42 suites, Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch has reset the benchmark for luxury accommodation.

As for food, the former Courtroom Number 1 has now been transformed into the main fine dining restaurant, whilst Courtroom Number 2 has been converted into an ultra-exclusive members’ bar. Sip cocktails such as “slammer”, “clink” and “nick”, on the rooftop whilst admiring panoramic views of the city at sunset.

For a spot of pampering, head to the hotel’s luxury ‘Sanook Spa’, which not only offers a heated indoor swimming pool and fitness centre but treatment rooms; steam room and sauna. With treatments available such as the Cleopatra 23 carat-gold facial, Courthouse Hotel knows the meaning of true indulgence.
