Is this London’s most expensive student digs? Inside the £12.5 million Mayfair pad

The £4000 per week apartment on Park Lane is being pitched at wealthy young people looking for student digs

The Mayfair estate agents, Wetherell, that have 80 Park Lane (a plush property worth a whopping £12.5 million) on their books report that around 80 per cent of enquires for the 3,540 sq ft three-bedroom townhouse have come from students from the Gulf region – regardless of the fact that rent is close to £200,000 a year.

As you can tell, no expense was spared in furnishing the house.

The Park Lane-  which first became a fashionable residential address back in the eighteenth century – property is the only house on the prestigious street with its own private front door.

Not only is lounge enormous, it has air-conditioning, underfloor heating, start-of-the-art home entertainment, and security systems.

Step aside to be greeted by a spacious hallway and a stunning bespoke glass staircase connecting all three floors, leading downstairs to the vast reception room perfect for entertaining with its high specification and open plan kitchen with white gloss units and integrated Miele appliances.

And of course, the kitchen has a fully fitted designer kitchen and 10 seat dining area. There is also a stone topped-central island with a breakfast bar.

Stairs lead up to an opulent master bedroom suite on the upper floor, boasting a large dressing area, ample cupboard space and palatial master en suite with a walk in shower and separate bath, natch. What’s more, the (world’s luckiest) student can also enjoy breathtaking views of Hyde Park from the private west facing terrace which spans the width of the property.

The bathrooms would not be out of place at a palace. They have a bath and walk in shower room, finished in stone wall and floor tiles, with floor and wall feature lighting.

The master bedroom suite has a walk in dressing room with bespoke shelving and a master bathroom.
To top it off, the apartment also benefits from two further lavishly decorated ensuite bedrooms, one on each floor of the apartment (ideal for hosting guests), under floor heating, air conditioning and an on-site 24/7 concierge.

The newly completed 3,540 square feet pad is so enormous, the main lobby (pictured here) is bigger than most people's homes in not just London, but also across the UK.

Surely the most opulent student digs ever, 80 Park Lane  “will appeal to an ultra-high net-worth person from the Middle East or Asia who wants to launch themselves into Mayfair society,” says Peter Wetherell, chief executive of Wetherell. “It’s leisure living, a business base and the ultimate address.”
