La Mamounia: One Of The Most Glamorous And Iconic Hotels In Morocco

Here is a hotel so synonymous with Marrakech, that its myths and legends are intrinsic to the city’s glamorous bohemian history. Every inch of this palatial hotel has been hyper-considered to make guests feel as though they have arrived in some regal estate of an Arabian kingdom. I can’t wait for it to reopen, following a major renovation which will see it welcoming again guests in September.

It has also just been announced that La Mamounia is nominated for the “Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards” 2020.

Located in the heart of Marrakech, Morocco, just a stone’s throw from the famous Jamaa El-Fnaa Square, this legendary hotel first opened its doors in 1923 and has long hosted the “who’s who” of international royalty, politicians, celebrities and jet setters. Steeped in history, symbolic of traditional Moroccan hospitality and a classic example of the great age of grand hotels, La Mamounia is globally regarded as one of the most notable and desirable hotels in the world.

La Mamounia is currently closed for a major renovation that will see its doors closed until September 15, 2020. The refurbishment, by Parisian firm Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, will see a full overhaul and reimagination of the culinary spaces and a structural facelift of the rooms and public areas. Ensuring a smooth transition of eras and a delicate rebalancing of the energies, the new-look property will deliver a new contemporary concept, whilst maintaining the traditional taste recognized at La Mamounia.

Just moments away from Jemaa el-Fnaa Square in Marrakesh, La Mamounia offers the sophisticated luxury and comfort of a five-star palace hotel. Boasting incredible views of the gardens, the Atlas Mountains and the Koutoubia Mosque, the rooms, suites and luxury suites also embody all the elegance of a 5-star palace hotel, each with their own interpretation of the Moroccan art of living.

La Mamounia’s villas are hidden away in the sumptuous gardens of this luxury palace hotel in Morocco. Just a few minutes from Marrakesh’s medina, three superb villas provide the perfect hideaway, offering the incredibly intimate feel of a private riad, with all the benefits of a 5-star palace hotel’s services. Ideal for romantic getaways or family holidays.

The Spa at La Mamounia offers guests an unforgettable journey through the senses. Walk up the Majorelle blue stairs and follow the dreamy glow of the Oriental lighting. A vast space devoted to wellness, with massages, body treatments and a hairdressing salon. Not to mention the legendary outdoor pool where you can relax and unwind in the warm 26°C water.

Once life gets back to normal and this magnificent hotel reopens, I can not wait to walk through its doors.
