Victoria Beckham Beauty – The Clean Beauty Choice in Luxury Makeup

Out of its packaging, Victoria Beckham Beauty oozes luxury but also simplicity. It prides itself on being a clean beauty brand, being an agent for change when it comes to non-harmful ingredients and the impact it has on the environment. What we noticed first was the collection and range of products, that it was limited to eyes, lips and skincare. No foundations or blushes. Secondly the price point being accessible.

For this review we chose six products including the Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturiser, two lip definers in shade 01 and 03, the Future Lash Mascara, the Bitten Lip Tint in Cherie and the Smoky Eye Brick Palette in Signature. We tried to go as subtle as possible so that these shades would suit any skin colour. Upon doing a swatch test on our arms we found the colours and pigments to be absolutely beautiful, gliding on with one stroke which means that you don’t need to apply more than once to get the pigmentation to be visible. Perhaps what we love most about Victoria Beckham’s Beauty range is that the collection is minimal and concentrated, where performance means more than a plethora of makeup categories and where transparency in what is used in these products are part of their brand values. We recommend you take a look at their glossary to know exactly what is contained in each product by visiting

The term Clean Beauty can be vague, often over-stated, over-used and a claim that many beauty brands are taking advantage of simply because its become a great marketing term that makes the consumer feel better when they purchase a product that is labeled ‘clean’. But what is clean really? First and foremost its what’s in the product itself, whether the ingredients are derived naturally or synthetically although its worth noting that not all synthetic ingredients in skincare and beauty are harmful. Transparency is therefore crucial for brands labelling themselves as clean and they should have a responsibility in sharing an open dialogue with their consumers in educating them on how their products are made, what is contained within them, what packaging material is used and even whether a recycling program exists for these products.

What Victoria Beckham Beauty has done is taken that step towards a more sustainable approach to beauty whilst maintaining the luxury aesthetic. Each product apart from the lip liners come in a rather heavy almost tortoise-like shell espresso casing and according to its website “where possible, we use post-consumer recycled materials and minimal plastic”. Each product is vegan and cruelty-free.

Take its lip tint for example, formulated with hyaluronic acid and squalane for a nourishing application. We applied this on our lips and surprised to say that it stayed on for hours without the need for a top up. This is a great alternative to a lipstick should you want something lightweight, stained and tinted, nourishing and delicate. The perfect on-the-go purse-friendly beauty item. The lip liners are a great compliment for that added definition – it is waterproof, glides on easily and beautifully pigmented. We love the colours that we chose, 01 and 03 as they appear very natural and just the top up you want when you wish to add extra enhancement to your pout. The Cell Rejuvenating Moisturiser has a higher price tag as it is considered a skincare item within Victoria Beckham’s Beauty range. What it is, is a combination of bronzer, primer and anti-ageing goodness in a bottle which has been formulated together with pioneer stem-cell researcher Professor Augustinus Bader who also has his own line of high-performing skincare products. This Cell Rejuvenating Moisturiser is the perfect choice if you want something that is considered clean beauty, provides anti-ageing but also delivers as a primer and bronzer at the same time.

Our other favourite has to be the Smoky Eye Brick which comes in 5 different palettes. We went for the signature although tempted to try out the other palettes as they appeared just as inviting. The Signature is the best option if you want something that you can apply daily to your makeup look and routine as the shades are neutral with a mixture of warm tones. Like the lip tints and lip liners, this glides on very easily and is so compact that it fits perfectly in ones purse. We highly recommend pairing this with the Future Lash Mascara formulated with VB’s proprietary C2 Complex. The best thing about it besides it being long-lasting, smudge-free and sweat-proof is that you can rinse this off with warm water. We love that it is vegan, hypoallergenic, gluten-free, soya-free and above all, cruelty-free.

After giving these products a go for the last few days, we’re hooked, we’re in love. What’s more is that each product has been taken into careful consideration in terms of ingredients. We highly recommend going to Victoria Beckham Beauty’s website to really understand the essence behind the collection and if you’re curious, to even ask questions. These products are easy to use, high-performing, clean and fit perfectly in a purse – they’re made for those on the go and more importantly they’re suitable for all skin tones.
