Virgin have made history this week by being the first UK airline to launch a ‘Pride Flight’ between London and New York City, to take place in June 2019. With an entirely LGBT+ cabin crew, the one-off flight will be packed full of special guests and live performances to make it one memorable flight.
Taking place in June 2019, the Virgin Pride Flight will be hosted by Tituss Burgess, Broadway musical actor and star of the hit Netflix show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and will include one-of-a-kind in-flight entertainment including on-board DJ, Drag-Queen Bingo, Judy Garland singalong and inter-seat speed dating. The flight commemorates the 50th anniversary of New York City’s Stonewall Uprising, widely regarded as a pivotal moment in LGBTQ history.
A true celebration of queer culture 38,000ft above the Atlantic, Pride Flight will take passengers from London to New York just in time for World Pride 2019, which for the first time ever is being held in the US in New York City. World Pride is organised internationally to celebrate Pride for those countries where homosexual activity is still illegal or repressed, with previous host cities including Rome, London and Toronto.

A portion of ticket sales from the flight will be donated to The Attitude Magazine Foundation to advance community Pride initiatives in the UK, along with further fundraising and raffles taking place on-board.
