Every week, The Sybarite collates its pick of the hottest luxury lifestyle news into bite-size chunks. In this week’s edition, we cover Cocktails in the City, the opening of the new Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills; the launch of the Sprout Supper Club; and the recent Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection announcement.
Cocktails in the City returns to London

Bedford Square Gardens is playing home to Cocktails in the City on the 28th & 29th July where 25 of the most inventive cocktail bars from across the capital will come together in pop-up form, all with the goal of being awarded ‘best bar’ at the end of the event. Whether you want to try your hand behind the bar, try new and exotic flavours or simply want to relax and take in the atmosphere with live music and the G&T Ice Cream Parlour, there is always something happening that everyone will enjoy.

Confirmed bars include the London Cocktail Club, The Nightjar, The Walrus Room, and The Hide Bar

Sprout at Harvey Nichols

Duck & Waffle’s Dan Doherty has launched the pop-up supper club ‘Sprout’ on Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor Terrace. For 4 nights only, guest will receive a sipsmith cocktail with accompanying snack on arrival; as well as sharing plates to start and then a hearty main course that captures traditional British flavours and whilst the full menu details have not been released to the public, dessert is a modern twist on a British classic.

Sprout has collaborated with many local florists to ensure the restaurant is ‘adorned with loads of gorgeous plants and pottery’ with everything from plants to the crockery being available to buy (brand new ones of course!)

Beverly Hills welcomes Waldorf Astoria

Santa Monica Boulevard, known as the gateway to Beverly Hills, has welcomed it’s newest hotel, the Waldorf Astoria, on 1st June. It is claimed that this hotel ‘represents the best in California lifestyle and luxury’ and boasts a rooftop bar with 360-degree views and La Prairie Spa.

The event space makes celebrating, in particular weddings, especially romantic and breathtaking. whether you want intimate ceremonies in the lush gardens or grand ballroom receptions, there is something to keep every guest satisfied.

We recommend staying in the Presidential Penthouse Suite, which comes complete with fully-stocked kitchen and home entertainment room as well as a bar and spa treatment sanctuary.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has announced the launch of the Yacht Collection, the first of 3 due to be released in 2019. The 298 passenger ultra-luxury yacht will have 149 suites all with their own balcony as well as multiple luxurious duplex penthouses, a Ritz-Carlton spa, and three-Michelin-starred restaurant Sven Elverfeld, from the Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg. General reservations open in May 2018, with the second and third yachts setting sail in 2021 and 2022
