Discover the delights of Mexico’s Pacific Coast

Follow in the footsteps of the rich and famous and make for Mexico – in particular Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. The Sybarite shows you the way to go…

The charms of Mexico’s Pacific Coast – in particular the neighbouring regions of Puerto Vallarta (famous for the preservation of its authentic Mexican traditions) and Riviera Nayarit (celebrated for its picturesque fishing villages and the spectacular Banderas Bay) – have been well documented but done nothing to dent their power. And for good reason: Puerto Vallarta invariably features on any and every Mexico itinerary because its an absolute must-see.

Don’t believe us? Just ask reality star Kim Kardashian-West who has been snapped this summer, showcasing her famous figure in an array of eighties-style swim suits, American entrepreneur, Joe Francis’ Casa Aramara – a private seaside estate 10 miles north of Puerto Vallarta.

Summer 2016 isn’t the first time that the TV personality has visited Mexico’s Pacific coast either – Kim and her notoriously outspoken rapper husband, Kanye West, chose to celebrate their second wedding anniversary at Aramara too.

However it’s not just the Kardashian Klan who keep flocking to Mexico’s most enticing coastal destination. Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio – the former face of Giorgio Armani and Ralph Lauren- have all been sharing their Mexican experiences on social media.

In fact the question isn’t so much who has stayed and played in Mexico’s Pacific Coast as who hasn’t? Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor and heart-throb Richard Burton, holidayed here in the sixties having fallen for the area while filming filming Night of the Iguana.

The Hollywood heavyweights came here on holiday and then returned repeatedly as the blue Bahía de Banderas and lush palm-covered mountains worked their subtle inexorable magic.

In time, completely enchanted the power couple purchased their own property – Casa Kimberly – now a bijoux boutique hotel shouldering downtown Vallarta.

Meanwhile Microsoft legend Bill Gates has triggered a wave of investment in Nayarit after buying 48 acres of land at the unparalleled Four Seasons Resort, located in lavish Punta Mita.

With an array of distinctive attractions – think exotic landscapes, pristine white sandy beaches, fantastic sea-life – keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and, turtles – snorkelling, surfing, state-of- the-art accommodation and yes, endless sunshine, it’s little wonder that A-listers venture to Puerto Vallarta – Riviera Nayarit year after year after year after year.

All told, this is one of Mexico’s top treats and a great place to call home whether for a week’s vacation or infinitely longer…
