The Ultimate Pre-Christmas Party Beauty Treatments

With the festive party season upon us, The Sybarite takes a look at some of the most sought-after beauty treatments to give you that special something before the Christmas holidays.

For fabulous hair: Vixen & Blush

Want more volume and length to add to your party hair this winter? Look no further than Vixen & Blush; the only London salon celebs go to exclusively for safe and reliable hair extensions. We investigated further and tried the micro-ring method ourselves, this method is very popular because it is reusable and very safe. No glue is used to fit the hair extensions and both the fitting and the removal process are straight-forward, comfortable and simple. These micro ring hair extensions (also called nanorings) will last for 3 months and can then be re-fitted again at half the cost, making this a more affordable method.

Our appointment was with Vixen & Blush founder, Sarah McKenna. Sarah is incredibly passionate about developing new and improved techniques in hair extensions to achieve truly natural-looking results for clients. Her background was indeed a labour of love; Sarah spent 5 years researching and developing techniques and travelled the world to find the best quality Virgin hair to import into the UK. Sarah’s incredible knowledge of hair and her quick wit makes you feel instantly at ease – a good thing too, as the process of fitting extensions takes around three hours! But after what seemed like no time at all, we emerged with a bountiful head of hair! Though with great power, comes great responsibility. It’s not without a few fair set rules to maintain these beautiful locks one has to abide by – no high ponytails or colouration on the extensions for example, so don’t forget to colour your roots before you get your extensions fitted. We now live by the Vixen & Blush motto; Long Live Long Hair!

Vixen & Blush currently boasts 2 well-established hair extensions salons in London and Sarah continues to innovate in her pursuit of perfect hair.

For bright eyes: Browhaus

Tired of looking like Alice Cooper first thing in the morning? Banish those post-party panda eyes with Lashgraphy from Borwhaus, the first and only concept store to specialize in Brow and Lash Grooming Services. This treatment comprises of a tint and lift for your eyelashes so you’ll never have to wave that mascara wand over your face again. Well at least, not for the next 3-6 months. This consultation begins with working out how to best to work with your natural lashes, how much lifting do you want? How dark of a dye? Clients can choose between a blue/black tint – their darkest colour and a brown to lighter brown shade.

The procedure doesn’t take long at all and is not painful in the slightest, you’ll be walking out with bright and shiny framed peepers and ready to party in no time!

For perfect party brows: Tracie Giles

With over 25 years’ professional aesthetic experience, Tracie Giles is a leader in Permanent Cosmetics, both here in the UK and globally. ‘Tracie Giles Bespoke Permanent Make Up’ was founded in 2003 and launched their first collection of concessions in premier spas and clinics around the area of London based on a business model concept to grow and deliver the highest standard of Permanent Makeup in the UK. Within two years, it had achieved not only its goal of becoming the first high street clinic in the UK but it had also expanded from the original two rooms to five floors solely dedicated to the art of Permanent Make Up. Moving from the cold clinical doors of Harley Street to the beauty of Knightsbridge high street, creating a more accessible route for permanent makeup for women that sgtill retains its femininity, rather than cold and clinical.

Undoubtedly the buzzword for PMU Brows in 2015, Microblading (aka ‘brow embroidery’) is a technique that was first discovered thousands of years ago using a super fine micro-blade to etch lines into the skin that flow in the same direction as your own hairs. Creating the ideal brow look for those who want an extra natural and soft effect with the pigment being placed into a higher layer of the skin. We tried this with our lovely technician at Tracey Giles who made us feel completely safe and at ease. The procedure is slightly painful, but doesn’t last for long and only a bit pink for an hour or so afterwards so you can go about your day, just with new and improved eyebrows.
